THE PROGRAMME
The
programme runs in three modules of one semester each plus project writing in
the fourth. Certificates will be issued to successful candidates at the end of
each module’s examination. Qualified Module 3 candidates will equally write the
NFLV Diploma examination. Aside from acquiring communicative competence in
French, the result of the Diploma examination is valid for direct–entry
admission into Nigerian Universities to study French. Interested students will
be guided to register and write the French Ministry of Education International
Examination – DELF or the Test
d’Evaluation de Francais (TEF-Canada).
The Programme is fully residential and all
participants are accommodated in the general students’ hostels or the Executive
hostel, as they are expected to take part in evening sporting activities and
other post-dinner socio-educative activities.
FOR WHOM?
The Course is for
interested adult learners, including school leavers, Secretaries,
Receptionists, Marketing and Media professionals, Bankers, Businessmen and
women, Military and Paramilitary personnel and other interested professionals.
It is also open to individuals who desire to enhance their chances of travelling
to the French-speaking countries of Europe or Canada for work or further
studies.
ADMISSION
REQUIREMENTS
Candidates for admission into the Certificate
Programme must be 15 years of age or above and have a minimum
of GCE/SSCE/NECO/NABTEB result or its equivalent with 5 credits including
English and Mathematics.
Interested adult learners without the stipulated
qualifications can apply for the certificate programme, provided they are
sufficiently literate.
